Welcome to St. Thomas Lutheran Church. We are a Christ-centered community in Charles Town, West Virginia where people of all ages gather for worship, fellowship, learning, and service. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church, or looking for a church home, we hope you will find a warm and welcoming place here.
At St. Thomas, community means walking through life together. Through worship, music, fellowship events, and service to others, we seek to share Christ’s love in our congregation and in the community around us.
Our Ministry Team

Worship and Congregational Life
Our worship committee and congregational leaders work together to support the worship and ministry life of St. Thomas during this time of pastoral transition.
We continue to gather every Sunday at 10:00 AM for worship, along with opportunities for learning, fellowship, and service.
If you need pastoral care or have questions about the congregation, please contact the church office at 304-725-5284 or stthomaswv@gmail.com.

Eric Bowman, Organist
Eric Bowman has served as organist at St. Thomas Lutheran Church for over 16 years and has more than 35 years of church music experience. Originally from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, he holds degrees from James Madison University and Shenandoah University in music education, organ performance, and choral conducting.
Eric has performed throughout the country and has taught music at both the college and community levels. At St. Thomas, he is grateful to help lead worship through music and share the rich tradition of sacred music with the congregation.
Ministries & Groups
Community Meals and Outreach
We are in partnership with Jefferson County Community Ministries to provide physical and spiritual support for those in crisis.
Our congregants prepare and serve monthly meals to the unhoused. Our facilities are used by other partner churches to provide meals to our community as well.
Youth and Christian Education
Youth Sunday school takes place weekly on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM. Adult Bible study classes take place throughout the year through virtual and in person learning. We announce these classes on our Facebook page, so follow along to learn more!
Pastoral Care Team
Our Pastoral Care Team helps ensure that members of our congregation feel supported, remembered, and connected. Through prayer, phone calls, cards, visits, and other expressions of care, the team accompanies people experiencing illness, grief, loneliness, life transitions, or other difficult circumstances.
If you or someone you know would welcome care from the team, please contact the church office at 304-725-5284 or stthomaswv@gmail.com.
